Watch how to take a pre-built recipe and customise it for your studio in minutes — no code required.
What recipes are
Automator comes with a library of pre-built recipes for the moments your studio deals with every day — milestones, birthdays, referrals, late cancellations, and more. Each recipe is a ready-made workflow: a trigger and a chain of actions already connected and working. You don't start from a blank canvas — you start from something proven, and make it yours.
How to use a recipe
- Browse the library. Go to Business Settings > Automator Workflows > Browse recipes and pick the one that matches what you want to automate.
- Open it on the canvas. Every recipe shows its full chain — the trigger that starts it, and the actions that follow (emails, points, tags, and more).
- Check the trigger. Confirm it's listening for the right event, and adjust any conditions so it only fires when you want it to.
- Customize the actions. Edit the copy, rewards, amounts, or tags in each step to match your studio's voice and rules. You can also add, remove, or reorder actions — the recipe isn't fixed.
- Use dynamic fields. Most recipes insert details like a member's name or the specific milestone automatically, so every send feels personal without manual work.
- Test before you go live. Use Test run to run the recipe against a real member's data and see exactly what would happen — with zero risk of sending anything live.
- Save and enable. Once you're happy with the test result, save the workflow and switch it from Disabled to live.
Tips
- Duplicate a recipe before editing if you want to keep the original as a template.
- You're not limited to the recipe library — once you're comfortable customizing recipes, you can build workflows from scratch using the same triggers and actions.
- Re-run Test run any time you make a change, to confirm the workflow still behaves as expected.
